Robot Building 101
There is a ladies Salt & Light event going on the same morning as Brother to Brother. We have been asked to provide some young gentlemen that will open the doors for the ladies and escort them to their seats. We don't want to dissapoint, so please be there at 9:20 so we can help these ladies out for about a half hour.
| Build a Robot
Date: Saturday, February 18th
Time: 9:30 AM until 2:00 (Please be at the church at 9:20) Where: Meet at the Golgotha Skate Park Bring: Water, Bag lunch (or money to buy lunch at the garden) We have a special guest who will be bringing some kits to make robots with him. he will teach us how to assemble the circuits onto the board and if we are successful, the robot will perform based on its programing. We may be able to change the program on the controller so that it performs a new function. I recently met with our guest and he described some of the extra components like "whiskers" (yes, just like a cat) and sonar that would enable to change direction and go around obstacles that are in its way.
Our guest will also describe some of the robot drones that his company has developed that go into caves and fly over enemy camps as a safe alternative to sending live troops into dangerous situations. We will also have a vintage 30 year old robot that the boys can play with. Unfortunately, the robot kits are rather expensive so the boys will not be able to take them home with them. Who knows, you may get the bug and want to start exploring what you can do with a circuit board, some I.C.'s and a little wire. You might even invent a robot of your own to clean your room. |

Brother to Brother Movie:
You may not have participated in our first movie "The Prodigal" or the second one "The Good Samaritan", but now you have the opportunity to star in our third installment. We are working on a script and a story but we hope to have this event in June. Our videographer has new toys that he is itching to let us play with so we can shoot this one in high def!
A Look ahead:
Don't forget to be praying for a new facility for our 2012 camping trip in December. We have been spoiled the past 4 years and it may be difficult to find a place as great as the Brooksville Ranch!
Tell us what activities you enjoy the most. We are considering our annual July lock-in, the December camping trip and the usual beach, football activities.
