- Sign up for Code Year to start receiving a new interactive programming lesson every Monday. You'll be building apps and websites before you know it! Anyone can learn the basics of programming in just one year. Who knows, you may just create the new "Angry Birds" using your new skills.
- Learn to use HTML in order to build your own website at W3Schools.
- Learn about a variety of topics at Ted talks.
- Check out these schools that feature online learning courses: MIT, Rice University, Berkeley, and even New York University.
- Mac features an ITunesU app for your IPhone or IPad that gives you access to books, lectures, courses and more.
- The non-profit Khan Academy provides over 2,700 educational videos through YouTube. Having trouble getting that science concept or math equation? Check it out and see if they can help the "light bulb" go on.
- Private help is available through the peer to peer site P2PU. Check out the subjects already covered and if you can't find what you are looking for, start your own group.
- The University of the People is an non-credited, online school specifically created so that college level education would be available worldwide - especially to those in third world countries. So far, they have accepted 1,300 students from over 125 different countries between the ages of 18 and 72.
- The online video education site Academic Earth offers videos on a variety of subjects from Astronomy, to Economics to Test Preparation. Use your lunch hour or the bus ride to school to brush up on your knowledge of the Civil War.
- CK-12 provides online textbooks for Kindergarten through 12th grade. They also offer SAT prep instruction.
