Brother to Brother
"Encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good." Titus 2:6-7
The Brother to Brother ministry started around 2005. The vision of the ministry is to give the boys in the fellowship (ages 8 to 17) who do not have an active father figure in their lives an opportunity to be mentored by godly men.
We meet consistently on the third Saturday of each month. This is our group activity day where we go out and have some good fun together for a few hours. We do all sorts of activities including fishing, hiking, laser tag, football, boating, kayaking and more.
We also have service project days where we help out people in the body by doing small repair projects on their homes. We team up with the Men of Arms group to help out the needy in the fellowship. We believe these volunteer projects are a wonderful opportunity for the young men to really put their faith into practice and learn a practical skill at the same time.
We also have a network of mentors who are willing to team up to help out the boy's families when needs arise. We have helped to move families into new homes, repair leaky faucets, painted rooms, executed minor repairs on vehicles, and offered our services in many other ways. Galatians 6:9-10 says "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
We really want to see the fatherless at this fellowship be ministered to and discipled. Once a boy begins to attend the group activities, we will prayerfully consider matching him with a mentor who would meet with him once a week. The "One-on-one" mentoring is optional, just let us know if you are interested in it.
"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling." Psalm 68:5
Meeting Schedule:
3rd Saturday of every month
10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Where: Calvary Chapel Skate Park
